SillyGrin...?

First off, we're not a club as such, more a group, no make that a "shambles" of riders based around the Home Counties in the UK who enjoy riding together and try to have some fun while doing so. As well as plodding around the mud fest that is Bedfordshire we try and ride a mix of physical and technical challenges in the North Downs, Wales and the Peak District etc.

We are always looking...

If you're thinking about giving mountain biking a go get, in touch. We can try and help with advice on what kit you need and maybe take you on some easier routes to get you started. With no joining fees or forms to fill out the only requirements are a helmet and a suitably well maintained bike along with some sensible spares and kit - tubes, pump etc. Oh and a sense of humour.

Rides are organised through the forum, take a look at what's going on and join in. Some rides are not suitable for a first time out, by that we mean it's probably better to join a local ride at first, just to see, rather than coming to the Peaks and chucking yourself down a rock strewn gully - unless your into that. Register on the forum and enquire as to what the consensus is on the type of ride planned and let us know your going to turn up.

If you're an experienced rider maybe you know some good routes we could try, or fancy coming along on some of ours. Check out the forum to see what's going on and join in. We are friendly, non-competitive (most of the time) and everybody is welcome to join us.

Please be aware as stated we are not an organised club, we have no affiliations to any cycling organisations or groups and do not have public liability or similar insurance. Although most of the groups riders have many years experience and will offer advice they are not qualified guides. You ride at your own risk and take full responsibility for yourself and equipment. Mountain biking gets described as an "Extreme Sport", it's up to you how extreme you make it.
